Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret evaluation results for patients from birth through geriatric, determining OT treatment plans in consultation with physicians or prescriptions; set realistic goals based on physical and cognitive abilities, and document findings in the electronic health record.
- Plan and implement medically prescribed OT treatment, monitor progress, and adjust therapy plans to promote maximum independence and function; select and construct therapies aligned with patient goals.
- Maintain the operation and organization of the occupational therapy program for inpatients and outpatients; coordinate scheduling and care delivery with the rehabilitation team.
- Provide specialty services including but not limited to custom orthoses, sensory integration, cognitive treatment, and activities of daily living; participate in available specialty clinics such as spinal cord, functional, geriatric, assistive technology, and durable medical equipment/orthotic supply programs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other team members; provide training and in-services for students and staff; contribute to quality improvement, risk management, and safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal/state licensure requirements and ethics; maintain credentialing core privileges and accurate documentation.

Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program.
- Licensure: Current, valid, unrestricted OT license from the American Occupational Therapy Association and Arizona Department of Health Licensure, or eligible for AZ licensure; or licensure in another U.S. state, D.C., or Puerto Rico with eligibility for AZ licensure.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of licensed OT experience; strong orthopedic skills are preferred.
- Credentials: Must meet credentialing requirements to serve on the Medical Staff; provide all information required for credentialing.
- Ability to work in a travel assignment and to practice in a surgical center setting, with appropriate coordination for inpatients and outpatients.
