Responsibilities
- Perform specialized mammography examinations to aid in breast disease diagnosis and treatment
- Operate dedicated mammography equipment, ensuring high image quality and adherence to safety protocols
- Properly position patients, apply appropriate compression, protect patient comfort, and obtain diagnostic images
- Review prior imaging and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate interpretation and patient care
- Maintain imaging records, label images accurately, and ensure proper documentation of procedures
- Adhere to radiation safety standards, infection control, and department policies while providing compassionate patient care
Requirements
- Licensing and certification requirements as defined by Job Notes (Radiologic Technologist credential and breast imaging competency deemed necessary by employer)
- Mammography imaging experience or demonstrated competency in breast imaging
- Ability to work daytime, 10-hour shifts in a hospital imaging department
- Strong patient communication and collaboration skills
