Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care for critical care patients, including ventilator management, oxygen therapy, airway clearance, suctioning, and aerosolized medications per physician orders.
- In labor and delivery settings, apply NRP principles, assist with stabilization, and support airway management as needed; set up BCPAP interfaces and assist with intubations when required.
- Monitor patient status, interpret trends, perform frequent assessments, adjust therapies in collaboration with the care team, and document accurately in the chart.
- Participate in rounds, contribute to care planning, and ensure infection control, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance are followed.
- Provide patient and family education on breathing treatments, device use, and discharge instructions; respond to acute changes and support the code/rapid response team as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA or ARC equivalents)
- Minimum 3 years of critical care experience, with labor and delivery experience including NRP and stabilization
- Proficiency with invasive and noninvasive ventilation, ABG interpretation, and airway management support, including assisting with intubations and BCPAP interfaces
- Ability to work the 3x12 night shift pattern and rotating weekends; on-call may be available
- RTO requests accepted; please include any time-off requests in your application
