Overview
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) travel assignment available in Newark, New York. Start date: 06/08/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,967-$2,078 per week. Shift: 3x12 days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM). Setting: hospital. This travel - temporary assignment supports adult respiratory care across LTC to Acute care units in the Eastern region. On-call required. Orientation: 36 hours. Unit details include approximately 120 beds with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct respiratory care to adult patients across LTC and acute care settings, including ventilator management and weaning
- Perform ABG sampling, pulmonary hygiene, suctioning (oral/nasal/ETT/NT), and HFNC/BiPAP/CPAP support; assist with intubation and extubation as directed
- Administer medications per orders; manage bag-mask ventilation and respond to high-pressure alarm troubleshooting
- Monitor patient status, conduct assessments, and document in EPIC; maintain and troubleshoot equipment (e.g., Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, V60)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV, PT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Rapid Response, Social Services, Transport) and participate in patient care planning and discharge planning
- Support unit operations and patient care workflows, with on-call coverage as required
Requirements
- Active New York Respiratory Therapist license in hand (RRT)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year RT experience; charge experience preferred
- EPIC charting proficiency
- Ability to work across LTC to Acute care settings within the Eastern region; able to float between facilities
- On-call required; pre-approved time off available (1 day per contract)
- Personal vehicle may be required for rural Eastern region assignments
